Entries are now open for the 2026 Spring 6/12 rogaine on Saturday 17 October.

The ACT/NSW Spring Challenge is set in the spectacular Central Tablelands. Centred in the scenic Gurnang State Forest and extending into the western edge of the Blue Mountains National Park, this event offers competitors access to truly superb rogaining country. Participants will navigate through a beautiful mix of native eucalypt forests and mature pine plantations, both featuring a remarkably open understory. The terrain varies from flat with subtle features to steeper hills with well-defined spurs and gullies. The course has been set with navigational challenges tailored for both novice and experienced teams alike. Whether you plan to walk or run, the open terrain makes moving through this unique landscape an absolute pleasure. The area is home to some amazing wildlife, and if you are lucky, you might spot wombats in full daylight, or greater gliders after dark.

A cold and rainy day did not dampen the spirits of a large field with half the teams still on course with 15 minutes to go!

Congratulations again to Ryan Stocks winning overall and mens clearing the course with 3 minutes to spare and 2830 points, Chloe Woodburn and Moss Thompson winning mixed with 2100 points, and Lisa Cary winning womens with 1920 points. There was an error with the control 34 being assigned 80 points which has now been corrected.

It was a perfect fine winter's day in the east Kowen Forest with fantastic views of the Brindabellas, as well as lots of frosty patches and frozen puddles.

The overall and mens winners were Ryan Stocks and Guyver Fu with 1940 points, a couple of minutes late and a couple of controls short of clearing the course. Christopher Bradley, Dylan Hull and Sophie Radajewski won the mixed category with 1540 points and Heather Logie,Susan Sprague and Selina Stoute wons the womens category with 1450 points.

A big thanks to all our volunteers, the catering by Hartley Lifecare, and a fantastic job by Leanne Haupt organizing the event and setting a course enjoyed by all.
