This year’s Night and Day/Cycle events will be in scenic Tallaganda Stat
 e Forest, just hour east of Canberra. Rogainers can expect a 50:50 mix of p
 ine and native forest, with a course designed for all levels of experience.
  Camping will be available at the Hash House, so why not do the night then

 mation: The course has been designed with cycling in mind and encouraged. A
 ny gravel or mountain bike will be able to easily get around the course. Yo

 that all details for your team including category are correct. If incorrect

Ensure that all 
 team members sign a separate indemnity form. Parents or guardians must sign
  for people under 18. Also provide registration number(s) of your car(s) at
  the Hash House. Be sure to put your team number on the form. 
Present your
  completed indemnity form at the registration desk.
Medical advice: All com
 petitors should consider advising their partner of any pre-existing medical
  conditions (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, susceptibility to anaphyla
 xis) that may require first-aid action on course. This should include a des
 cription of the symptoms, the required first-aid action, and the location i

The 5 hour night event will commence by way of a ma
 ss start at 5pm sharp on Saturday, 19 September, with a final briefing at 4
 :50pm. Registration will open at 2:30pm.\n
The day and cycle event will com
 mence by way of a mass start at 9am sharp on Sunday 20 September, with a fi
 nal briefing at 8:50am. Registration will open at 7am.\n

 erson only per team to register and collect maps. That person will need to:

Electronic 
 scoring: As this event is using the Navlight system of scoring, each team m
 ember will be issued with a wristband and tag upon registration.\n
You will
  also be given pre-marked maps, control descriptions, course setter's notes
  and a small copy of the map to be used as a flight plan. We recommend that
  you arrive at least an hour prior to the start of the event to allow enoug
 h time for final preparations and route planning. Each team must mark their
  intended route on the flight plan and hand it in before starting. \n
Map a
 nd Course Details\n
There will be one A3 map (297x420mm), 1:25,000 with 10 
 m contour interval. Magnetic north lines are marked on the map. Out of boun
 ds areas are marked in pink shading. It contains mainly native bush and pin
 e forest. The course setters notes and control descriptions have been print
 ed on the back. The altitude ranges from approximately 900 to 1300 m. \n
Th
 e map is printed on Teslin paper which is very tough and generally does not
  need to be covered in contact. \n
Travel can vary from very fast in areas 
 of flat, open forest to very slow on steeper slopes of dense vegetation. Pi
 ne plantations are in various stages from relatively recently logged to den
 se and almost impassable.\n
Lawyer vine occurs throughout the course. The v
 ine produces long canes which can be thin, tough and have nasty small thorn
 s that cause cuts.\n
Water\n
Please bring enough water for Hash House use a
 nd for at least 3 hours on course. There are 2 water drops on course. At ea
 ch water drop there is a pump that screws into the top of the water contain
 er to use. We do not recommend drinking any water found on course without s
 terilisation. There is likely to be water in the larger creeks. \n
Camping\
 n
Camping is available at the hash house. When you arrive, please indicate 
 to the marshal if you are planning on camping and you will be directed to t
 he dedicated camping area.\n

Summary of Event Rules and Scoring\n

The only
  navigational aids permitted are the maps we provide together with your com
 passes.
Teams consist of 2 to 5 competitors and must remain within earshot 
 of each other at all times. All members must simultaneously get to within 5
 m of each control point.
All team members must punch their Navlight tags at
  each control to score points.
If a Navlight punch has failed, record the t
 hree letter code visible inside the end of the punch.
Competitors must not 
 enter out-of-bounds areas; gates must be left as found; stock must not be d
 isturbed.
The organisers may disqualify a team if it acts against these rul
 es or against the spirit of the event.
A team can retire a member at the ha
 sh house. This will finish that team's event. A new team can form but it mu
 st start with zero score.
Late Penalty: 10 points per minute (or part) late
 . Disqualification if more than 30 minutes late.
If teams score equal point
 s then the first team home will have a higher rank.
